We love getting to review products from The Pencil Grip, Inc. Our newest product we tried was their Magic Stix Washable Markers. These markers are phenomenal! They claim that they won't dry out for 7 days with the cap off. Well, drum roll please . . . they're right! I'm not sure how many days it would take for them to dry out (I put the cap back on because I didn't want to lose any of the colors). They are washable and non-toxic.
Both my kids love to draw and do art projects so it was an easy yes to agree to review this product. We have loved all the products that we have reviewed for this company. We really liked the large variety of colors. We received a 24 pack that came in the very nice plastic container (if you need a smaller set they do come in a 12 pack). It latches well and has a handle to carry them around. The markers snap into place in the container so they don't get all messed up or jostled around. This is a really nice set. It is very interesting that the caps are "vented" and I did notice that there is no odor which is VERY nice.
Being washable markers I did not expect them to be difficult to wash off of my table when you know the little almost always goes off her paper at some point. LOL. Well, I tested a mark (the older child had already ruined my table with a sharpie marker so it didn't bother me to add another mark). Well, the Magic Stix Washable Marker did NOT wash off my table (the mark is still there after many washings, although it has faded some).
We also tried using them on a wooden ornament figure and found out that the color bleeds together and doesn't work so well. I assume the bleeding is due to the nature of these that keep them from drying out. I don't recommend using these on anything porous (other than paper products) or even slick for that matter. The best medium seems to be paper, cardstock, or cardboard. I noticed that the color on the wooden ornament rubbed off onto my fingers even after drying for several hours.

I had recently ordered a kit that allows you to draw a picture and then send it off to be made into a plate, or cup or any of several other items the company has available. The kids used their markers to color their templates. We haven't sent them off yet so I will update this post at a later date with the finished products. The colors are nice and vivid and my K5 daughter was just so excited at all the colors!

All things considered, we absolutely loved these markers. I REALLY like that they don't dry out and the assortment of colors is wonderful. The kids really enjoyed using them and I also like the latchable container that keeps them neat and safe from being scattered everywhere. There is no cardboard box that gets destroyed and then markers end up everywhere. If you are in the market for some new markers we highly recommend Magic Stix Washable Markers.
